Carpentaria acuminata

This tall, fast growing, elegant palm is endemic to the Northern Territory of Australia growing along rivers and streams. It has a crownshaft, bears white flowers and an impressive bunch of beautiful scarlet red fruits. The palm grows to 50-55 feet with an 8 inch diameter stem. Its pinnate leaves are arching, green above and slightly bluish beneath. It tolerates partial shade when young, but prefers full sun when an adult.
