This Australian species is called the Firewheel Tree, because of its orange-red striking blooms. It is in the Proteaceae family and it is by far the largest ornamental species in the family, which is chiefly represented by shrubs. It is beautiful in all its parts, with some striking glossy dark foliage and elegan habit. It grows in warm Mediterranean to Tropical conditions.
