FDC Ecology is a dream come true for Coen Knotters, owner of Veldbiologische Werken and member of the IUCN Succulent Specialist Group.

His dream is to find endangered succulent species (once) on the red list, for that he travels to the arid regions of the globe.

For surveying he uses conventional field survey methods, finding these endangered plants he maps their whereabouts with modern equipment.

But just surveying these endangered plants is not the only piece of information he will provide. With a methodical approach he gathers information of their surroundings, their habitat, growing places and other specific conditions needed for their preservation.
