Fun For The Whole Family At Falcon’s Resort By Meliá All Suites Punta Cana

Following

Falcon’s Resort By Meliá All Suites Punta Cana is a five-star all-inclusive resort located on the Dominican Republic’s stunning Bávaro Beach. Punta Cana is one of my favorite Caribbean destinations and a popular vacation spot for families with kids of all ages. Located in the magical place where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea, Punta Cana is home to turquoise water and white sandy beaches. This newly rebranded property brings “resortainment” to the Caribbean with a magical blend of premium resort amenities and extraordinary entertainment. The result is endless fun and adventure including access to a new world-class theme park, Katmandu Park in Punta Cana, the only theme park of its kind in the Caribbean. With kids out of school and summer travel just around the corner, you should keep Falcon’s Resort By Meliá on your radar.

Resortainment

What do you get when you combine premium resort amenities and extraordinary entertainment? Resortainment of course! Currently happening in full swing at Falcon’s Resort By Meliá this creative idea is a new experience and part of the multi-phase transformation of two existing Meliá properties, Paradisus Grand Cana and Garden Suites by Meliá. The list of exciting resortainment activities are unique and there are so many that each member of your family is guaranteed to find something they love. Taking place throughout the resort and private beach area, there is everything from family yoga (and sunset yoga at the beach), dance lessons, teddy bear’s workshops, movie nights, painting workshops, tennis, mini baseball, foam parties, and healthy smoothie making. There are tons of pool activities such as aqua aerobics, pool fitness, and water jumping. Resortainment continues after dark with nightly rotating activities such as Dominican Night, a DJ Set, disco, Latin Night, Roller Skate Night at the Club House and Rock Night to get your groove on.

Beyond Suites

Upon entering my luxurious swim up suite I happily found a caricature drawing of myself on my cozy king-sized bed, created by a talented local artist when I checked into the hotel. Kids will love this added treasure. The spacious suite includes a dining area with a separate lounge area, smart TV, rain shower and bathtub, and huge private sundeck with a whirlpool. Rooms are furnished with modern décor including magnificent paintings and cozy pillows.

Steps away is access to a sparkling pool and my own private cabana for shade. There are 432 rebranded suites ranging from 800 to 2990 square feet. Connecting rooms make it perfect for large or extended families to vacation together. The Beyond Room Experience includes exclusive benefits such as personalized concierge, turndown service, oversized suites with luxury amenities and a special dinner at the swim up pool.

BLAST! Water Park, Pool, & Beach Club

BLAST! Water Park is perfect for younger kids and walkable from the rooms. There are multiple water attractions including twirling water slides and a splash area. Or cool off from the Caribbean heat in their dazzling main pool, the heart of the property, that is lined with cozy lounge chairs, umbrellas, cabanas and palm trees. Take a golf cart to the beach club and relax while kids play in the sand and ocean waves.

Dominican Republic’s Bávaro Beach is one of my favorite places and you can walk for hours in either direction along the shore, or sit under a coconut leaf cabana reading a book. The first-class service here is exceptional and the staff is friendly and kind, exactly what you would expect from Meliá Hotels.

Kids Camps And Spa Days

Just because you are on vacation with your kids doesn’t mean you have to spend every second together. You can drop off your bundles of joy at Habitat Club where they will be supervised and entertained for hours. Fun camp experiences include games, crafts, activities, an art zone to channel their inner artist, a ping pong table, cooking area, video games, and a kid-sized ring light just waiting for them to create wonderful memories.

While they make new friends from around the world you can sneak off to Maia Signature Spa for peace, serenity, and pampering. Spa treatments include traditional therapies combined with technological innovation and my relaxing massage was top-notch. Save time to sip tea in the lounge or take a refreshing dip with the spa water ritual.

Global Cuisine

Even the pickiest of little eaters will not go hungry here. There are nine diverse restaurants providing a wide variety of delicious global cuisine including culinary experiences featuring Asian, Latin, Mediterranean, and Caribbean dishes using local flavors and ingredients. Dining options include Tori a delicious Asian restaurant with a sushi bar; Machu for Peruvian food evoking the great wonder of Machu Picchu through dishes from the region; Origen buffet serves international cuisine inspired by the origins of Taino culture on the Dominican island; and sports lovers can cheer all night at Rubi Rocks, complete with pool tables and and big screens to watch your favorite sports events.

As a vegan I was able to find tons of options and many restaurants had either a dedicated vegan menu or Chefs prepared plant-based dishes upon request. Each morning I started my day with an oat milk latte at Nest in the resort lobby.

Katmandu Park

Katmandu Park Punta Cana is steps away from the resort, just hop on a quick shuttle. As the foundation of the “resortainment” hospitality experience, families have access to non-stop fun and adventure here. The innovative rides and attractions are based on popular characters from the company’s original Katmandu franchise. If you are new to Katmandu, you will be introduced to the characters upon arrival via the marquee attraction and immersive storytelling experiences.

Standard room guests of Falcon’s Resort By Meliá receive a complimentary one use pass for Katmandu Park, and if you upgrade to the Beyond Experience you receive a multi-day pass. The park is packed with rides and activities for all ages including Voyage of the Fathom Wanderer where you meet a sea queen and attempt to defend the Caverns of Life.

I was a bit too scared for High Point Adventure, an exhilarating outdoor rope course where guests trek through challenging obstacles such as bridges, cargo nets and seesaws high above the ground. But I spoke to brave kids and adults that loved it, including a six-year-old from my hometown of Toronto. More along my speed of thrills was Quandagon, an indoor strength and agility experience where you crawl through tubes, spider walls and smaller rope swings to help you conquer the course. There are several dining options and I was thrilled to discover authentic vegan tacos from the grill truck at Fire & Spice.

Before heading back to the resort, I visited Expedition Golf and eagerly putt putt my way through hidden realms on a magical mini golf course with the stunning Punta Cana sun setting in the distance, leaving Katmandu Park glowing.
