Meaning of name: Misopates was the name used by Dioscorides for several plants. Orontium is from the Greek word orontion, the name given to plants said to grow near the river Orontes.
Distribution: Found around Perth and in the Avon Valley.
Remarks: A herb up to 50 centimetres tall with pink flowers produced from July to October.
