Melaleuca linarifolia is a lovely, shapely tree with attractive foliage, small grey/green leaves and a soft paperbark trunk. (Good for tree hugging !)
In late spring/early summer a mature tree will be covered with thick creamy white flowers - just as if it has snowed. It's spectacular.
Although it prefers full sun it will grow in shade but will be much less dense.
This is a tree that will cope with wet, saline or alkaline soils but does really badly in drought. It is second line salt tolerant and grows well in coastal gardens.
