Phaseolus vulgaris or the French Bean is a very varied species that produce legumes that are either eaten entire-as green beans, or the seeds/pulses can just be the edible part.
They all have dark green leaves that are usually compound.
Some of the green bean types are string bean, runner bean and snap beans.
The pulses include haricot and pino.
They are usually climbing plants, but some of the dwarf varieties are more shrub-like.
Classic French Beans tend to be rounded in profile and grow on dwarf plants that do not require support.
