Impatiens niamniamensis or the Parrot Impatiens is an easy to grow, low maintenance plant that produces un usual and brightly coloured 'curled' pea-like flowers throughout most of the year.
This is an evergreen perennial with erect stems that appear woody. The slightly hairy foliage is ovate to elliptical and arranged spirally.
The waxy, red and yellow flowers are quite unusual with a long, curled nectar spur and appear for most of the year, dangling in groups under the canopy of foliage.
This mild-climate plant is happiest in bright shade and also makes a very good indoor plant if kept out of direct sunlight.
Perfect for a larger pot on a shady patio.
