Euphorbia stenoclada is an erect, multi-branched and leafless succulent with sharp spines in shades of green to grey - making a very architectural display.
They go best in dry, rock gardens or larger planters.
It produces flowers (cyathea) on branch tips that are small and purple in colour in spring.
Due to its prickly nature it is best planted away from foot traffic - but its shape is a thing to behold so can make quite a statement in an appropriately themed garden design.
Frost tender they won't be happy under 6c.
