About This Product

A versatile foliage plant for most Southeastern landscapes, this desirable evergreen perennial gently spreads to create an appealing ground cover yet is just as often found in the border garden or even as an accent plant. Needing little care, the drought tolerant Flax Lily sports white striped, green leaves that resemble grass blades. This fast growing plant forms a tidy clump so it also works well in containers. Stalks of shiny, turquoise blue, ornamental berries in fall to winter create a colorful accent.

Q:why do I get brown on the leaves
by|Mar 10, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  The older, outer leaves on each fan blade eventually die and turn brown, and these can be cut off near the ground. Spotted brown spots could be a rust disease, to solve simply remove the affected leaf blade near the ground. By removing any of the brown blades, the plant will focus its energy on producing new leaves.

Q:How often do you water the Dianella Lily?
    by|Dec 11, 2021
    1 Answer
    Answer This Question

A:  For the Dianella, it is best to provide a consistently moist soil during its first growing season, to help the plant establish a strong, deep root system, which will allow it to tolerate drought conditions later in its life. After that first season ends, simply water only during periods of extreme drought.

        Great Poolside Plant
Bought these nearly a year ago and transplanted them into a built-in planter. Despite the light chlorine fumes, occasional splashes, and mediocre soil, these are doing great! They have perpetual stalks with small, non-descript flowers but their real strength is the tall, dense, variegated leaves. They're lush and perfectly fill a small planting space. When I purchased them at the store, they had a few flaws - e.g., brown streaks in some of the leaves - but that was then. I looked today to pick up several more for other areas, but they were completely out.

$25 for a Home Depot quality 1 gallon is insane
$25 for a Home Depot quality 1 gallon is insane. This is more expensive than retail plant Nurseries (they’re to be the most expensive option). Home Depot doesn’t at all have the quality plants that retail Nurseries so. Don’t expect what you see in the photo, that’s not Home Depot plant quality.
