Plant description

leptospermum shoretuff01

leptospermum shoretuff02

leptospermum shoretuff03

This is a very tough plant with grey-green foliage and bronze coloured new growth that is a great new alternative as a hedge or informal screen plant for difficult conditions such as coastal areas. 'Shore Tuff' is a compact form of the Australian native Coastal Tea Tree that thrives in conditions that would kill many hedge plants. It is drought tolerant but should be watered in well during the first couple of months after planting. Whilst it does produce white flowers in spring, it is the foliage and growth habit that really define this plant. Leptospermum 'Shore Tuff' is ideal for difficult sites such as coastal plantings, poolside landscapes, roadside verges, parks and other public spaces. Works well in narrow or small spaces such as patios and courtyards.
