Hypericum moserianum Tricolour (St Johns Wort)

A colourful form of St Johns Wort, Hypericum moserianum Tricolour provides a steady stream of bright yellow shaped flowers from Early July through until October, held amongst tricoloured green, cream and pink foliage. The pink colour often intensifies as the temperature drops in Autumn. These are easy shrubs to grow in any well drained soil and they do well in sun or shade making this a versatile plant, ideal for bringing colour to beds, borders and more difficult areas, even a low path edging. This makes a great ground cover plant when used ‘en masse’ needing very little attention once established (other than an annual shear over with the hedgetrimmer.)

How to grow Hypericum moserianum Tricolour

Position: Full sun, partial shade, moderate shade.

Foliage: Semi evergreen – keeps some leaves all year although some may drop in very cold weather nad be replaced with fresh new growth the following Spring.

Soil and site: Any  average soil.

Flowering time: June to September .

Growth rate: moderate

Ultimate height and spread: 30cm high x 60cm wide.

Hardiness: Fully hardy.

Aftercare: Water regularly after planting and for the first season. Prune or trim in Spring.
