Paspalum plicatulum, or brownseed paspalum, is a warm season, rhizomatous perennial growing 2-4 ft. Blades are folded, stiff, and bluish green; they are smooth but hairy at base. Sheaths are purple at base, and ligules have brown membrane. Stems are purplish at base. Seedhead has 3-7 racemes 1/2-3 inches long with dark brown seeds.
