Observation - Erica woodii - Southern Africa. Description: Seen near (500m) to Klein Mooi River in several small patches 200 mm across and only about 100-200 mm high. Lack of recurved mouth seems to exclude E. aestiva and the suggested ID is only other contender in Pooley:MF page 214 is Erica woodii
Seen near (500m) to Klein Mooi River in several small patches 200 mm across and only about 100-200 mm high. Lack of recurved mouth seems to exclude E. aestiva and the suggested ID is only other contender in Pooley:MF page 214 is Erica woodii ssp platyura. Subspecies not in Red List or The Plant List but is recorded in Global Names Index. Lourens Grobler has posted a photograph of flower under same subspecies name that looks similar to ours.
