Lobelia-like flowers. Flower tube and small upper lip petals are deep, shiny purple. Lower lip petals are white on upper surface and lower surface (see picture above) are white with a purple central line and fading purple radiating to sides. Stems are initially prostrate but then bend into upright position. No roots found on prostrate branches. Leaves alternate, spoon-shaped, toothed, 12 to 25mm long and 3 to 5mm wide.

Although, in a previous observation there was agreement with this ID (Lobelia dichroma) it worries me that observations of Monopsis decipiens look very much like this Lobelia. How does one differentiate? And, I always thought that Monopsis species have twisted pedicels (upper lip is 3-lobed and lower lip is 2-lobed, the observations of Monopsis decipiens all are the other way round (upper lip 2 lobed and lower lip 3-lobed, exactly like Lobelias).
