Introducing Angraecum corrugatum, a captivating orchid species endemic to the enchanting Réunion Island, east to Madagascar. Flourishing at elevations between 2600 to 5600 ft, this miniature-sized, clumping epiphyte thrives in the cool, misty realms of humid forests in the island's central and southern-southeastern heights.

Angraecum corrugatum boasts erect, lateral, or horizontal branching stems adorned with thick, leathery, oblong leaves. These dark green beauties, articulate to the stem, are notable for their unequal and obliquely bilobed apical structure.

This orchid graces us with its ethereal presence in the fall, unfurling solitary, axillary, short, single-flowered inflorescences. The remarkable flowers, 2 to 2.75 inches wide, showcase lanceolate sepals and petals, resembling each other, tapering towards the apex. What truly distinguishes this species is the narrow, concave lip, devoid of a spur, offering a unique touch to its already distinctive allure.

Indulge in the allure of the Angraecum corrugatum, a very rare and hard-to-find orchid species native to Réunion Island, east to Madagascar.. Enchanting with its easy blooming nature and sweetly fragrant flowers, this elusive gem promises to be a prized addition to any orchid enthusiast's collection.

Cultivation Tips:

Light: Provide Angraecum corrugatum with filtered or diffused light, maintaining a level of 18000-25000 lux. Shield the delicate plant from direct midday sun exposure, and ensure continuous, gentle air movement.

Temperature: Maintain a summer temperature range of 21°C during the day and 13-14°C at night, offering a diurnal range of 7-8°C.

Humidity: This orchid thrives in humidity levels of 75-80%, dipping slightly to 65-70% for a few months in early spring to early summer.

Growing Medium: Choose shallow, well-drained containers or opt for mounting on tree-fern slabs. For mounted plants, high humidity is key, and during dry spells, multiple daily waterings may be required. If growing in pots, use an open, fast-draining medium with added perlite, chopped sphagnum moss, and charcoal to promote aeration and prevent stagnation.

Watering: Water generously during active growth, ensuring excellent drainage to prevent root stagnation. Adjust watering frequency based on seasonal rainfall patterns.

Fertilizer: Apply a balanced fertilizer weekly, at 1/4-1/2 the recommended strength, during active growth. Consider using a high-nitrogen fertilizer in spring to midsummer, switching to a phosphorus-rich one in late summer and autumn.

Rest Period: During winter, when temperatures range from 15-16°C during the day and 8°C at night, reduce watering and fertilizer. However, avoid leaving the plant without water for prolonged periods, gradually increasing both when new growth emerges.

This is a blooming size in a 3" pot, about 1 to 2 years to bloom, grown from seed, limited!

Keep the allure of Réunion Island alive in your space with the exquisite Angraecum corrugatum – a testament to the beauty of nature's creations.
