Today is World Malaria Day and Kenmare is proud to support the fight against #malaria. In 2023, we reduced the number of cases of malaria amongst our employees at the #Moma Mine in #Mozambique by 51% year-on-year. This was achieved through educational campaigns, distribution of malaria prevention tools like #repellents and #mosquito nets, and anti-mosquito spraying. Kenmare, through #KMAD, has provided 3,000 school desks to benefit children living in the #Moma Mine’s host communities and the wider #Nampula Province. The desks were handed over yesterday to Nampula Province’s Secretary of State, Jaime Neto, and the Governor of Nampula Province, Manuel Rodrigues. Currently many children in the Province sit on the floor while studying, so the new desks will significantly improve their learning environment.
