The Institute for Regional Conservation’s Post

Want to know a fun fact about this beautiful plant? Crotalaria rotundifolia (Rabbitbells) are common to find in pine rocklands. The flowers of Rabbitbells do not open until the afternoon and may only stay open for a day. The seeds "rattle" in the pods, when the fruit is ripe, hence the name! They're also the larval hosts for the Ceraunus blue butterfly and the Bella moth!
