The Cashew fruit is actually not a real fruit. It is a swollen stem that leads to the real fruit. The fruit is the nut like structure, from which the cashew nut is extracted from. The so-called swollen stem, which is referred to as the "fruit" is quite sweet when ripe and both yellow and red to orange colors can be found.
