Blue Sage (Eranthemum pulchellum)
The
intense rich blue
flowers of Blue
Sage bring color
to the darkest
days of the
year. Native to
northern India
into China, it’s a
modest plant in
containers yet a
vigorous grower
during the
summer, and with a little pruning it creates a well branched specimen.
Flowering for us from December through February, the flower heads continue
to produce flowers over and over again for weeks at a time. Since
it is a winter bloomer, it responds to the shortening days of late summer
and fall so pruning is best done before the height of summer.
