Common Name or Meaning The Beautiful Rhipidoglossum

Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]

Found in Cameroon, Zaire, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenyas, Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia in rainforests as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a stout stem carrying many thick grey roots and 2 to 6, towards the apex of the stem, green, leathery, oblanceolate, falcate, unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring summer and fall on ususlly several, pendant, arsing from below the leaves, to 6" [1`5 cm] long, to 12 flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.

Represented species photos are of Rhipidoglossum pulchellum var. geniculatum (Summerh.) Garay 1972 which occurs only in Cameroon, Zaire and Uganda and differs in it's usually longer to 10", many flowered inflorescence as well as much longer lateral sepals to 1.1 mm and angling at the base sepals and petals that flowers in the summer
