This attractive, mid-sized Aloe forms a solitary or sometimes clustering rosette of broad, bluish leaves, well armed along the margins with reddish teeth. The inflorescences are solitary and hold a compact head of pink to orange flowers. It is common on rocky slopes in the western and southwestern Cape Province of South Africa between 200 and 1300 m. Rewarding to grow in nearly any warm temperate climate.
