Great website! I was immensely surprised at the germination rates, that's not what I'm accustomed to...

This lovely, dry deciduous shrub or small tree can grow to 8 m tall and forms a thick, woody caudex and long, broadly pinnate leaves. The new leaves emerge with a beautiful maroon to purple tint. They fold up at night. Phyllanthus mirabilis is native to limestone cliffs in Indochina between 100 and 1000 m in a monsoonal climate with wet summers and dry winters. It is also found in seasonally boggy situations where it does not develop a caudex. In cultivation it makes a spectacular bonsai plant that can grow in tropical climates or indoors.
