Freshmen students impressed judges with business idea pitches

Last week was especially exciting for HTM freshmen students who did their final Elevator Pitch presentations as a part of the Business Idea 101 course, taught by Milena Kužnin.

Students were divided into nine teams. Each team had to come up with an innovative business idea that was to be presented in an abbreviated version aimed to catch the attention of the audience and the judges.

With the help of Petra Vodopija Borković, Career Services, Alumni Relations, Study Abroad & International Students Department Manager, Milena Kužnin assembled an excellent team of expert judges who are RIT Croatia’s Alumni: Bozidar Jukić (Insiderholiday, Owner), Andjela Matić (EventLab, Co-Owner), Ines Nanić (DubrovnikEvent, Owner) and Marin Nanić (Bura Bistro, Owner).

Based on the judges' input, the best elevator pitch was done by the Next Level team: Lukrecija Novaković, Domenica Vukić, and Marta Ožegović. The judges were impressed by the professionalism and delivery of the pitch, almost forgetting that the presentation was done by three exceptional students who happened to be only in their first year of college. Ines Nanić complimented the team and the idea presented, and their business idea was called "Viridi Via", a sustainable travel agency with a focus on green travel and positive tourism contribution.

Božidar Jukić was impressed by the preparation of all nine teams and the quality of the ideas presented. "I would invest in some of them, no doubt. Well thought out, detailed, and passionate pitches, job well done!" – he commented.
