What Is Cocculus?

Cocculus is floral greenery that is grown in Colombia and other temperate to tropical regions. It is sometimes called moonseed. The stems are arching and the leaves are ong and thin.

What Can the Cocculus Floral Greenery Be Used For?

These Cocculus bunches can be used as flower arranging supplies. They make great tabletop greenery to add to flower arrangements whether you are making centerpieces for a wedding or any other type of event. You can add Cocculus greenery to bouquets all year round for a lovely bit of deep green. Each of the 15 bunches in this set contains 10 stems which are about 20-24" in length.

How Do You Care for the Cocculus Stems?

When your florist supplies are delivered, you should remove the Cocculus stems from the box right away. Fill several vases or containers with at least five inches of fresh, clean water. The water should be cool to room temperature. Before placing in the water, you will want to remove any of the leaves that will fall below the water line because leaves that are sitting in the water can cause bacteria to grow in your container. The bacteria will shorten the life span of your Cocculus. Cut the stems diagonally and run under clean water before placing in the containers. Your water should be replaced every couple of days, and the stems should be kept out of direct sunlight. You also want to make sure that your Cocculus isn't kept in a room that is extreme in temperature or fluctuates a lot. When replacing the water in your containers, you may need to cut your stems again to keep the leaves looking fresh. It is best to use your Cocculus leaves within a few days of receipt.

Stem Length: (Approximation): 20-24 in.

Suggested delivery date of 1 - 2 days before your event

Due to the nature of this specialty item, orders must be placed at least 10 days prior to delivery date.

Care and Conditioning:

Upon arrival, remove greens from box by cutting any straps located on the outside and inside of the box.

Fill clean containers with at least 5 - 6 inches of fresh, cool water.

Remove any leaves that fall below the water line. Not removing the leaves may cause bacteria to form and shorten the flower’s life.

Using sharp scissors or a knife, cut stems diagonally approximately one inch under running water if possible.

Immediately after cutting, place stems in the prepared containers.

Keep away from direct sunlight, drafts or excessive heat/cold.

Change water and re-cut stems every 2-3 days

Since Cocculus is perishable and affected by weather, please have someone present to receive the flowers between 8 am and 12 noon if you live in a metropolitan area or 8 am to 4:30 pm if you live in a suburban or rural area. A signature will be required for the package to be released. Please have someone available to receive your order on the delivery date. This will ensure that your order is not sent back for next-day delivery.

Additionally, shipments may be delayed by weather or other unforeseen circumstances resulting in shipping and/or delivery dates being modified. Signature is required upon delivery.
