Commonly known as the Dwarf Date Palm, this is a delightful and popular Palm tree. It features lacy and glossy, dark green fronds that have a graceful arch. Orange-brown fruits are produced in autumn amidst the foliage. It typically grows to just 2.5 m tall and 1.5 m wide, performing best when planted in full sun or partial shade on a well-drained, sheltered site that is frost free. It will tolerate a light frost once established. This easy care Palm makes for a lovely specimen and is often used to line an entranceway, grown in a courtyard, planted around pool and barbecue areas, included in tropical plantings, added to mixed plantings, or maintained in a container.
