This lovely little Grewia occidentalis is the perfect flowering patio plant; hardy, with a neat, topiary shape. The purple star-shaped flowers that appear in summer are loved by bees, birds and butterflies and are followed by red-brown berries. This evergreen shrub makes a superb patio plant, thriving on a hot patio in summer. Move it indoors to a heated conservatory or greenhouse over the winter months with a minimum temperature of 7°C (45°F). Plants are drought tolerant and easy to care for. Height and spread: 1m (3’3"). Supplied in a 9cm pot.

Grow Grewia in containers of soil-based compost such as John Innes No.3. The Star Flower enjoys a sunny position on the patio throughout the summer months. It requires a minimum temperature of 7°C (45°F) in winter and is best moved to a heated greenhouse or conservatory over the coldest months.

Feed and water Grewia plants regularly during the summer months and sparingly in winter. Prune Grewia plants in late winter or early spring, removing any misplaced, damaged or diseased stems to maintain a healthy framework.

Seeds and garden supplies will normally be delivered within the time period stated against each product as detailed above. Plants, bulbs, corms, tubers, shrubs, trees, potatoes, etc. are delivered at the appropriate time for planting or potting on.
