Chulta or Indian Apple (Dillenia indica)

Dillenia indica, a native tree from India east to southwestern China and Vietnam, and south through Thailand to Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines. The large, many-seeded fruit is edible. The fleshy pulp is used for curries and preserves. The leaves have a conspicuous corrugated surface with deeply impressed veins.
